Bathroom Help Instructions:
Thank you for volunteering for the Arise Year-End Recital 2025!
CAREFULLY read below to find your dress code, instructions, and other important details. Then, send us an email to confirm you got it, or with any questions you may have.
- Your job will take place during the show (or dress rehearsal).
- When you arrive, check in with Maryann or Noelle at the ticket table in front of the theatre doors to get your badge and instructions. Noelle will be wearing a badge labelled “Backstage Coordinator”; Maryann will be wearing a badge labelled “Lobby Coordinator”.
- Your job is to wait in the hallway near the bathrooms to help younger children go to the bathroom and direct older students to and from the bathrooms as needed.
- Check with the younger students if they need help or if they can manage on their own. Depending on their costume, you may offer to hold some of it while they are in the bathroom. For example, if a student has a skirt/tutu over their leotard, take their skirt/tutu and send them in, in their leotard. If a young student does need help and you must go in with them, please keep the bathroom stall door cracked open. You should never go into the bathroom with a young student and shut the door behind you.
- For older students that do not need help in the bathroom, still offer to hold costume pieces as needed, and keep an ear out for anyone having trouble, and/or goofing off. Keep students from hanging out in the bathrooms longer than needed, and encourage them back to rejoin their class as quickly as they can.
- Wear comfortable, modest clothing that you can move in, including good shoes as you will likely spend a lot of time on your feet.
- In order to watch the recital, you will need to purchase a ticket to see the show you are not volunteering at. You cannot watch the show while you are filling this position.
- Stay backstage with the students for the duration of the rehearsal/show.
- Let us know if you have any questions!
