Costume Checklist: Pre-Dance Classes

Please read the following information carefully and scroll ALL the way down. Below is a list of what your student needs to wear for their recital dance(s) at our June 2026 year-end recital, dress rehearsal, and photo day. (Links to hair and makeup tutorials are at the bottom.)

Note that all the classes for the term levels are on this page. Only check the costumes for the classes your child(ren) are in.

Costume Fees will be posted to your online account by March 1st. You can pay your costume fees through the Parent Portal at any time, but all unpaid fees will be charged to your card on March 16th.

1. "Their own" means it’s something they have and/or wear already (for example: the leotard or shoes they wear to class). If they don't already own the item, it is your responsibility to ensure they get it before May 1, 2026.

2. "Buy" means that Arise has already purchased this item for you and included the cost in your costume fee. Following the recital, you get to keep it.

3. "Rent" means that Arise owns this item and a small rental charge has been included in your costume fee. After the recital, this item must be returned to Arise in the same condition it was taken. Lost or damaged rentals will need to be replaced at your cost.

4. All costumes will be sent home with students following their photo day on May 22nd or 23rd (check the photo sheet for your exact day and time). You will need to send your child to their photo day with a garment bag labeled with their name, and one hanger per costume. Teachers will help the students pack up their costumes to take home. Please do NOT practice in or wear your costume at home as there are no replacement costumes available if anything were to happen to the costume.

Hair and Make-Up Tutorials

Each dance includes information about how your dancers’ hair should be done. Not all dances require a bun, but if they do, check out the bun tutorials below.

Boys’ Hair & Makeup:
If your boy’s hair is long enough that it moves when he jumps, hold it in place with a small amount of gel. Use a natural powder foundation so his skin isn’t shiny under the lights. Use a touch of eyeliner to make his eyes visible from the stage.
