Term Classes: Pre-Dance & Mini/Junior Hip Hop

Students will be supervised by Arise staff and parent volunteers while at Sacred Heart.

Students must arrive on time with recital hair and make-up done for their first dance and already in their costume. Please check your recital weekend schedule for more details.

Some students will attend a dress rehearsal on Saturday in the early afternoon, leave for a dinner break, and then return later for the show. Please carefully check all of your class’s drop-off and pick-up times.

*If you are not staying to watch a show, please come into the theatre after the performance to pick up your student from the stage and sign him or her out.

Recital Weekend Schedule

Recital Weekend Check List:

Before You Come To The Theatre:

  • Check your costume page to see your student’s costume list/s. Take careful note of anything marked as “Their Own” as these are items you need to make sure they have, and if not, you’ll need to buy them in advance of their photo days and the dress rehearsal.

  • Students should put on their full costume before they arrive at the theatre. If they are in multiple dances, see which dance is first (in the schedule above) and arrive in that costume, bringing their other costume(s) in a garment bag with their name on it.

  • Your student must come to the theatre with their hair and makeup already done. The costume list will include instructions for your student’s hair and make-up. We recommend practising before photo day. (If recital hair or make-up stresses you out, please contact us. We’ve got experienced and awesome dance moms who would be happy to have you over and give you a lesson.)

  • Please get your dance shoes on before drop-off, and leave all street shoes and street clothes with parents, only coming in what you’re wearing on stage.

  • Make sure your dancer eats a good meal before coming to the theatre, since even when we give them snacks, or time to eat while there, they are often too excited, distracted, and having a good time with their friends to eat much.

  • Do NOT bring anything else with you. No dance bags, water bottles, or personal belongings allowed. Water and snacks will be provided to the students at the theatre. Younger dancers get to sit in the audience and watch the parts of the show they aren’t dancing in, and while they are backstage they get a live feed of the show. They are supervised, happy, and entertained the whole time they are at the theater.

Please follow these guidelines carefully. By not bringing personal belongings with them the dancers can be picked up in a timely manner as soon as the rehearsal/show is over without needing to leave the auditorium to retrieve their things. This will also eliminate clutter backstage and people’s belongings getting mixed up or lost.
