Ticket Taker/Usher/Handing out Programs:

Thank you for volunteering for the Arise Year-End Recital 2025!

CAREFULLY read below to find your dress code, instructions, and other important details. Then, send us an email to confirm you got it, or with any questions you may have.

- Your job will take place before, during, and after the show.

- When you arrive, check in with Maryann or Noelle at the ticket table in front of the theatre doors to get your badge and instructions. Noelle will be wearing a badge labelled “Backstage Coordinator”; Maryann will be wearing a badge labelled “Lobby Coordinator”.

- You and 5 other people will stand at the doors that lead into the theatre and welcome people.

- You will work in pairs, with one person checking tickets and the other handing out programs and you will stand across from each other at each set of doors. If you are checking tickets, you do not need to scan them. Simply check that each person has a ticket (either printed out or on their phone). If you are handing out programs, ask each person if they would like a program. If you start running out, ask couples or families to share. Programs can be picked up from Maryann at the ticket counter.

- Stay alert and focused. We know it’s tempting to stop and chat with people you know, but that can create a backlog in the lobby. Please wait to chat until after the show.

- Slip out during announcements at the end of the show, before it’s time to open to doors, and go to Maryann at the ticket table. She will give you baskets to collect programs.

- Stand at the theatre doors as people exit. Thank each person, wish them well, "have a great evening!" etc., and offer to collect their program. Attendees are welcome to keep the programs, but if they don’t want them, we would prefer to re-use or recycle them instead of throwing them in the trash. Once the crowd has thinned out, bring the baskets of programs to Maryann at the ticket table.

- When it is time for the show to start, the four of you will coordinate to close the theatre doors. You will then open and close the doors for intermission and then open the doors again when the show ends.

- If you would like to purchase a ticket for this show, you can do so, but when you enter the theatre, please sit in an aisle seat close to the back to avoid causing disruptions as you will have to slip out to open the doors at the intermission and the end of the show.

- The dress code is “semi-formal.” It doesn’t need to be too formal, but think of “church clothes” or a classy party.

- Wear a smile and greet everyone warmly!

- Let us know if you have any questions!
